CoP: Red is the best simply because red is all about direct sources of damage - and has no way to deal with enchantments. (One could argue that black is about the same, but black almost entirely deals damage through creatures, whereas red also has direct damage. One mana to counter a red spell targeting you is pretty powerful. Also, black occasionally uses life-loss instead of damage.)

Apparently, back in the day, the Tempest CoPs confused people with their very similar art. This one actually has red on it, so it's a bit more obvious. Does anyone have any stories to vouch for this?

The art for the tempest Circle of Protections is really beautiful. Some people say its too abstract, but I think its simply gorgeous.

This was one of the most useful CoPs. Fireballs...Rolling Thunders...and the ever present Kindle were a real pain back in the day. This was a good side-board tech against red which, at the time, white had very few answers for aside from this card and perhaps Paladin en-Vec.

This and black are the most annoying COPs - when I see a red/white deck drop this or a black/white deck drop the black one I unload immediately before Pyrohemia, Pestilence or whatever other trick they have up their sleeve hits the table.

Tempest has the best art for CoPs. But ever since Story Circle was released I never looked back.

I think that it's funny that Circle of Protection: Green is about as useful as putting Protection from Blue on a creature =)

I mean TECHNICALLY that creates 'a legal ability' and all....but chances are Blue doesn't care about Protection, it will just Counter you and if you get on board it will play Black and White spells to remove you.

And using an Enchantment to stop a Herd of Trampling Beasts is so funny to Garruk, he almost forgot to laugh before just casting Krosan Grip X)

Does anyone see themselves wanting to try to use CoP: Blue against, like Inkwell Leviathan or something? or is CoP: Blue also pretty much a joke?

Note: as a huge LOL, you can use COP's of any color to stop Gold Red spells XD
