@Wusanderz

You do realize you can play the lands you exile, right? No Birds of Paradise necessary; the only thing you need is time, and, if you're actually playing Ornate Kanzashi, you probably intend to have quite a lot of that.

Also stops top-of-library tutors.

This card is great in EDH/Commander. I run it in a casual control magic deck focused on stealing other's cards. I can get my opponent's land and play it for more mana, while depriving them of it.

Best though is stealing important/obnoxious artifacts like all the Swords, or Sensei's Divining Top. I don't have my Top in my deck, because I find the card annoying, but I will take my opponent's Top and use it to stack my topdeck. Or if I'm really annoyed by it, simply exile it and don't play it. It is one of the few ways to actually eliminate that card. Did that more than once at games, and everyone but the Top's owner cheered. :)

The other great thing about Ornate Kanzashi, as someone else mentioned, is my opponents have to play very carefully. They don't want to waste a removal spell on it, but they don't want their prizes taken before they even play them.

In a large EDH game, this card is more than worth its mana cost. Especially since I have several ways to unt... (see all)

I agree, its an expensive card, but that only means play it late game where the mana can be spread around, and then use the discard once a turn to mess with your opponent. Precognition can match with this card so you control what your opponent plays and find out when you actually want to use the kanzashi so you don't use up mana without it being a card you want to play.

This card isn't really playable unless you have a Birds of Paradise or something.
Unless I can actually play the card, I'd rather use a Millstone. (The only reason to play this instead of Millstone when you aren't playing the same colors would be that this exiles the cards.)

this is expensive, but it can help you mill an opponents deck while taking control of his cards too.
