The art for this card is one of the reasons why I started playing the game. I don't play B/W, but DAMN that is impressive, isn't it?

I like the contrast between WhiteBlack and BlackGreen, one is elegant in its approach to the cycle of life while the other is a bit messier.

It's not bad.
I mean, black doesn't 2/2 for two mana anyway, and if it's in a B/W, all the better for you.
The abilities are a bit steep, but they're powerful too. I wouldn't have them cost any less on a cost/body ratio like that.

Edit:
It's also some of the best art that has ever been printed on a card, and the contrasting Black and White colors are very evocative.

Overall, spot-on card design, and a proud addition to the Guildmage family.

It waltzes with life, and tangos with death. Also, it's a good combo with Tainted Sigil!!
ALSO, if you want it to survive a couple more turns, add in Edge of Divinity

Ignoring black entirely, this would make a great addition to a White lifegain deck that splashes Blue for Training Grounds.

This with Training Grounds and Ajani's Pridemate equals a reusable "White: +1/+1 counter" at instant speed.
