It's strange to see old staple creatures go by the wayside. Scathe Zombies are scoffed at, Grizzly Bears are strictly limited place-holder creatures, and now Wind Drake is looked down upon with obviously better options like Umara Raptor.

Fare thee well noble 2/2 flying for 3, we had some good runs.

I prefer the old good Ninth Edition art though...

Whatever happened to the classic poetry that used to be flavor in core sets? Scathe Zombies had Coleridge, Phantom Monster had Poe, Wind Drake had William Blake and then Thomas Moore... I miss it.

Kathari Screecher is plain better. But that doesn't make it impressive.

Drakes aren't reeeally blues answer to dragons in my opinions.. They look similar, but sphinxes are more like dragons. like, dragons usually power boost and sphinxes draw, but they are both big and powerful, idk thats just me.

They should have switched the art between this card and Snapping Drake. Snapping Drake is never going to be played in standard, but I imagine that Wind Drake might be played in the right deck. In that case I would rather see the epic art of Snapping Drake on this card and have the crappy art of Wind Drake on the Snapping Drake card. How unfortunate that this could not be true.

Drakes are very blue, in my opinion. They're blue's response to dragons, even if there will never, ever be a bomb drake. It's just that all the old drake cards are becoming obsolete.

Oh, and Wind Drake, too. Guess I'm gonna build a drake tribal deck to rival the new soldiers!
