sereously, why do people bag on the disciples so much, they are dam good cards, with 2 abilities.
they are a 1/1 drop for 1 for starters.
I reckon this is the best one anyway. even by itself.

Surprisingly effective! :) This little wizard can take out attacking 2/1 creatures and even trade with attacking 4/3 creatures.. It's pretty hard to come up with cards that allow you to increase and/or decrease creatures' power each turn, and this is one of them..

Repeatable pump can be pretty good. Consider this as a 1 drop in a Spark Elemental/HellSpark deck. All of the sudden for an additional 1-mana to your curve you get 5 damage tramplers, almost ball lightnings! (which also go in the deck)
Yeah, it'll take manafixing lands, and yeah it'll be susceptible to removal, but toss in Mother of Runes. Now your deck is no longer weak to first strike OR removal. They put something bit in the way? Just walk through it with protected elementals.
Seems like a fun aggro deck anyway. The black ability is pretty bad but can dissuade blocking at times or buy you a crucial turn or two.

Does wonders in my flanking deck. In no way will any blocking choice my opponent makes -- including not blocking at all -- work in his or her favor.
