Azami's great, but why in the world did they put her in the BANT precon?
There are literally SIX Wizards, including Azami and Mirror Entity, in this deck.
That being said, if you can get both of them out, just pay 1, tap out, draw a bunch of cards, and everyone will hate you. Also, you can do this at instant-speed, no haste required.

@ TheDouce I once thought as you did, until I tried both Azami and Arcanis in my wizard deck, and discovered that Azami is far superior.
Arcanis comes out a turn later than Azami, then you have to wait ANOTHER turn before you can use him, at which point he gets you 3 cards (assuming he survives; unless you have 10 mana you won't be casting and bouncing him on the same turn). By the time I get Azami out, I usually have at least 3 or 4 other wizards out, so she can get me 4+ cards IMMEDIATELY, even if she dies right away (she also taps herself).

I know she's meant to be moving them around magically but everytime I look at her face and the artwork I just imagine Azami being super pissed about how there are a dozen freaking scrolls just floating around her office. She even has her arms out in a 'What?! Oh, come on!' sort of fashion.

On a serious note, this lass and Niv-Mizzet, the Firemind have some serious chemistry together. The number of EDH games I've won with my Niv-Mizzet wizard deck thanks to her is no joke. At worst, she's an Archivist with haste for one U more. At best, she's an absolute card advantage machine that combos nicely with a huge roster of cards.

Soooo glad I took the choice out of my own hands a month or two ago and pre-ordered the set :3
Between Nekusar and Oloro as generals, reprints like these, and a good money card in almost every color (or at least previously hard to find card made easily available- Avenger of Zendikar) I was really despairing at picking which deck to pick up. :P
I think if you own all 10- the 5 from 2011 and the 5 from 2013- you'll have so many staples that next year's release will be easier. I was for example less tempted by *every* commander this time around than last time. 2014 or 2015 could even be the last of these, if 3-colored Legendary Creature Design space dries up. o.O Remember- Premium Decks should have gone on way longer. Slivers was initially really really popular, but Fire and Lightning, less so.

Really a 0/2 for five, this chick stinks. Just pay one more for Arcanis the Omnipotent you get a 3/4 he taps to draw 3 cards and you can bounce him. I mean come on people.

@Mistralis: Have you checked out the Bant precon's commander, by any chance? It happens to be a wizard. That can come into play, untap Azami, block something, draw 2, then do it again on the next players turn? Or perhaps just swing in with a ton of dudes, untap your wizards, and then draw cards with Azami later because all of your dudes are untapped?

A 0/2 isn't even worth 0 mana; compare Phyrexian Walker. However... that ability is worth so much more than 5 mana that it's ridiculous. I can't rate Azami any lower than 5/5. She's just that good.
