The sorcery timing on this is a bit of a bummer, but I'm guessing it was strong in Portal (or Starter, I guess :P)

They only had sorceries in Starter and Portal. Not a bad card, would be very good at instant speed.

Well...returning two mild creatures for three is great at instant speed but if used to return big creatures for 3CMC, sorcery speed is a decent trade.

I like it. It would be considerably better as an instant though. I suppose there ways to make it one.

I love this card, for a while until Quicksilver Geyser and Whiplash Trap was introduced, this was the only card that gets rid of fast growing creature decks that outpaces Boomerang. echoing truth is too situational to benefit 2+ returns and sometimes your creatures can get caught up too!
This was a favorite hard counter to re-animator decks. Let them use 3+ cards to bring that Phantom Nishoba and Visara the Dreadful and then use this card to see their biggest sad face LOL
The only drawback is sorcery speed but I think that's fair.
