Step by step, here we go..
3 mana for a 2/2, decent if it was colorless. Has flying, which makes it a well costed french vanilla. It's also got a pretty nice white ping, if you're into that sort of thing. I can't ask much more from a common.

(We're overdue for a cheap Green or Black "Enchanted creature has deathtouch" Aura!)

Deathtouch or vigilance would combo best with this card. Tree trunk has the right idea, combo with an aura that will not completely lose to a doom blade.
