It's essentially a Leonin Skyhunter that you can summon on turn 3 to make room for your turn 2 Cerodon Yearling.
It's also RedWhite, making it strictly cooler.

I prefer him hands down to cerodon yearling. Cerodon might seem like the better, with a 1 mana cheaper cost and a typically stronger ability (vigilance vs. flying), but without evasion he just ends up smacking into ground troops like a dumb lummox. Skyknight, on the other hand, has won me almost all of my multiplayer matches by being able to pop out of nowhere and deal the finishing blow with some help from a balefire liege, a sunforger, or a scourge of the nobilis.

I've used both and fought against both, and the yearling almost never manages to get its punches in, while the skyknight manages to finds the perfect gap to deal his damage.

Also, this card should practically marry Boros Garrison. They really were made for each other.

Incredibly useful card, always the perfect third turn play that gets awesome with the spell/lands from zendikar like smoldering spire, teetering peaks, or sejiri steppe

I love this card. He has flies over early chumps, and the art is fantastic. I don't think he has ever spent time in my storage boxes, as he has always been in my decks ever since I got him in the Boros precon deck.

He also makes for a mean curve:
T1: Boros Recruit
T2: Boros Swiftblade or Cerodon Yearling
T3: This or Hearthfire Hobgoblin
T4: Brion Stoutarm or a Scourge of the Nobilis on either the Skynight or a first/double-striker, gain tons of life

Not only is he incredibly aggressive and efficient, he is also and tremendously fun.

I'm in love with this card!
Jim Murray must've been blessed by some higher power when draWINg this. Colors, buildings, leggionaire, his mount, and - oh - the marching boros below. You can't argue with Razia on this. Breathtaking!
And what an elegant ability pair, perfectly fitting the flavour and overall Boros guild style. Even if it wasn't strongly playable, i would still play it!
P.S. It's a knight, so... you know, the obvious tribal synergies... Auriok Steelshaper, Kinsbaile Cavalier. Maybe something crazy like Haakon, Stromgald Scourge...

Blue-Black I BELIEVE may be the most hated color combination in Magic, with decks that are either horribly broken beyond belief (think artifacts. or better yet don't. #shudder#.) or decks that look like they're supposed to be good, but can't quite get there any more because fast creatures are too good now. So somebody's always whining about power-level either way.

part-Green builds of Black/x that break the GAME ZONE: GRAVEYARD (that's right folks, an entire zone of the game is broken, just in case you lived under a rock and didn't know that yet. Wait. living under a Rock deck, you probably know all about the graveyard. Moving along.)

By contrast, Red/White seems to be the game's most popular creature type. It combines the 'Hulk SMASH!' power and attitude of Lightning Bolt and Kird Ape with the honor and heroism of White Knight and Angels. Everybody loves to be the good guy, and they love it even more when they get to kick ass instead of go the tragic tortured hero route. Red/White ... (see all)

@DarthParallax

With Modern, it's gone the other way. UB and Dredge can be allies, as they're not in use at all. They're like antiheroes who've repented and fought a common enemy.
This common enemy? None other than RGW Zoo decks, which dominate and stagnate till the format sucks.
It's like Batman said; "You either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become a villain."
