I used to play this and Aladdin's Lamp back in the day in an artifact deck using the Urza lands.

Another high casting cost artifact that is difficult to play without the aid of Tinker. But getting Aladdin's Ring into play is only half the problem, as activating it costs just as much mana! Four damage a turn is nothing to sneeze at, but the cost means it comes out very late in the game and it also means you can do nothing on that turn with your mana except activate the ring. Like his Lamp, Aladdin's Ring is best used as the target of an Animate Artifact.

@RikiJikiTiki: Tower of Calamities doesn't hit players, so it isn't capable of directly winning the game for you without Stuffy Doll. Aladdin's Ring could at least be used with with UrzaTron, Locuses or the like to kill one's opponents.

One of these days I will build the perfect deck with this as the sole win condition. People will bow to it.

Definitely outclassed and overcosted now but back when it came out it would have been solid. The Urzatron was in print around that time so it wasn't as tough to cast this as you'd think, and it killed almost every creature in the game, netting you lots of card advantage mostly unblocked attacks. 4 damage to their face is also decent and could be a solid way to close out the game.
