What are they saving the name Nebuchadnezzar's Sliver for? They're not going to get a sliver with a closer match. And don't tell me it's too hard to spell! I can spell Nebukanezzer without referencing the card.

It explicitly says it's not at instant speed ("play this ability only during your turn"), so the instant-speed discard-everything strategy people are talking about doesn't work.

If your opponent only has one card in hand, and you know their deck well, and they don't have enough land to play it, it may well be their trump card.
Also its great for getting rid of land against a monocolored deck.

What's the chance of that? Unless you go for a land, or something you are fairly certain the have, the best hope is naming powerful cards they might be saving. If you know their deck well.
Also it's AT RANDOM. UNLIKELY

At least it's a sliver. Then again, so is Venser's Sliver.

Glasses of Urza. Pretty nasty shenanigans, discard their entire hand with your extra slivers (from Sliver Queen or Brood Sliver).

By itself, not overly thrilling.
With enough slivers however? Absolutely shred your opponent's hand.
