Not all that great all-around, but perfect for its time.

It's either a 3/3 for , which is fair, or a 5/5 for free against the very style of deck that doesn't want you getting anything out, especially something so big.
Explain to me how this is even remotely bad again?

Wow, this is a great madness vs. opponent card, in the same vein as Guerrilla Tactics. Ok, not so great, but won't the guy using Blightning against you have a surprise if you have this guy and, say, Basking Rootwalla in your hand, eh?

Now has a spiritual successor in Loxodon Smiter. (You may have to wait a few weeks for that link to actually have results.)

A little underrated by some. As others have pointed, it's costed perfectly for a 3/3 and isn't locked into a color. So at a minimum, you are getting (what should be at least) the standard. Team that with having a bomb in your hand in case you are dealing with discard, and you have a solid card.
Best used in ANY sideboard in case you have to deal with fear, intimidate, or discard.
I'll give it a 3.5/5

4 mana cost + 3 power + 3 toughness + 1 + 1 (in rules text) = 12. And it's a dodecapod!
