Players really don't understand this card. I constantly see my opponents sacrificing permanents every turn. The first time, great, now my Curse of the Cabal has 4 counters on it. Yet they keep sacrificing turn after turn. Seems as if players a) don't read the card and b) don't look at the counters. There's absolutely no reason to sacrifice anything if this has more than 2 counters on it. People sacrifice everything from enchantments to artifacts to, my favorite, lands. And those lands would help them get out more things to possibly a) win them the game and b) sacrifice instead of lands.

Read the cards you're playing against!

This one is just mean. My favorite use is for Abyssal Persecutor. If you dont have anything to rid yourself of the persecutor after your opponent is below 1 life, you can just sacrifice it to this on your upkeep. Bam! Bet they weren't expecting that. It makes the curse a win/win for you. "Oh they're sacking permanents, guess I'll have a device to get rid of my persecutor if the need arises". Or. "Oh they're not sacking permanents... MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!"
Very fun card. obviously more usable in multiplayer (with coffers). I've hit an opponent with 2 of these on the same turn. I actually felt sorry after...

Can anyone imagine this with It That Betrays? I think that would be hilariously evil.

@MtFrostM, @thesis999:

Read the question, read the card. A player can only sac a permanent to this on their own upkeep, suspend triggers on the card's controller's upkeep, a7141988 was asking what happens if the controller of the curse had extra upkeeps.

The opponent can only sac one permanent on their upkeep (to the curse).

@ KirkulesEvans

The Vampire Hexmage's ability would not be able to affect the suspended spell, as it does not qualify as a permanent.

Nice try, though. lol

Freaking impossible to hardcast, but you don't need to. Drop it with a Nihilith and watch 'em squirm.

Also, guys: YOU CAN'T USE VAMPIRE HEXMAGE OR HEX PARASITE WITH SUSPENDED CARDS! THEY ARE EXILED AND ARE STILL SPELLS! THANK YOU FOR PLAYING, BUH BYE!

This card is fun, but only when played in the right deck. Playing as a single card in an average deck doesn't make much sense. If you win the game anyway, then you don't need this card. If you lose the game, then your opponent will sac a land or anything and continues to smash your face.

When played in multiples though, as well as using some other "sac a permanent" effects, like nettlevine blight, smallpox, braids, cabal minion greater harvester, it becomes much better, since your opponent will quickly run out of stuff to sacrifice.

Each Time Spiral card was an homage to at least one previously printed card.

This card is referencing Braids, Cabal Minion, right down to the Suspend cost.
