To answer Hoody franks question, What that means is that it will put a spore counter on all fungi you control. it does nothing more, nothing less. It is up to the fungus to use the spore counters. Since most thallids use sporecounters, it is not a problem.

Spore Flower makes for fun.
Every other turn gives you a fog... Every turn if you have two of one or the other.

So if I have this card in my deck of thallids, it will put an additional spore counter on each card that already gets one, right? So if I have this card and Sporoloth Ancient both in play, I can get a 1/1 Saproling token every turn from every thallid derivative I have in play, right?

Do the 1/1 Saproling tokens also count as Fungi? Do they start generating more copies of themselves, too?

So; Ok forgive me on this. I have looked over and over for a real claification on this card. I just started playing again after about 15 years. I was really excited to build a Thallid deck that wouldn't be so slow because of this guy. As I am paper building my deck (writing down my combos) I noticed that little rulings button on the bottom of his card page and my heart sank.

That onbivously is more dramatic than I acctually felt but I don't understand why they would make a ruling on this guy that effectively nullifies his ability.

"9/25/2006 Sporesower Thallid's triggered ability will put spore counters on Fungus creatures that aren't Thallids, though they generally won't have any effect on those creatures. "

So now from what I gather Thallids are still 1 spore counter per turn as per their own ability at upkeep, whereas with this guys ability it would have been 2 counters (1 for thallids ability and 1 for His).

So if I am understanding this properly; What other fungus' ... (see all)

This is an interesting lord, I don't have a link for what I'm about to say, but I know its true

When this was first thought up, it was a 2/2 for 3, and it changed over time to become this (there was a few steps)

In his current state, he does wonders for any fungus deck, you need to run some, he is the fungus (type) fungus (tribal) lord, just awesome, unlike another lord (Thelon of Havenwood) he is not legendary, and his extra effects are great! The other thing I like about it is, I play more control deck than aggressive, most of my wins are from them conceding so I don't use Thelon of Havenwood, he is more controlish.

Last thing I love about him, the body, I'd hate to say it, but I love turning him sideways and doing some damage, his toughness is so sweet too, after some board sweeps, he's hanging with Thallid Shell-Dweller getting some D ready.

Something that has always bothered me though, I dunno if I'd like hi... (see all)

Yet another fun card for Soul Foundry

@rinoh20
Mirrorweave looks amazing, but doesn't actually work barely at all
You can't play this during the untap step as seen below:

502.3. No player receives priority during the untap step, so no spells can be cast or resolve and no abilities can be activated or resolve...

And at the beginning of the Upkeep step, the Thallid abilities go on the stack before you get priority to cast spells. If you already have three Sporesower Thallids in play and many creatures it could work like this:
1) three instances of the ST ability go on the stack
2) active player gets priority, casts mirrorweave letting it resolve.
3) three instances of ST ability gives three counters to all of your creatures, but the new ones are too late to trigger.
4) remove 3 spore counters from all of your creatures to double your creature total.

This is a good card that can be played without other types of Thallids, or can supercharge ... (see all)
