Good to see Richard Kane Ferguson back as an artist in Time Spiral! As for the card itself, not that great outside of limited.

Every card in Time Spiral was a throwback to at least one previously printed card.
This card references Nafs Asp and Sabertooth Cobra, cards which tried to mechnically reference the seeping venom of poison of snakes. Hopefully you have the mana for an antidote!

@Vinifera7: Read the flavour text and enlightment shall be bestowed upon you.

@Vinifera7: Throwback card to Nafs Asp, a card that let your opponent either pay mana after being hit or on the next upkeep or lose life.
And they don't print "end of upkeep" much if at all anymore.

Really unusual timing with this thing's ability. Why the draw step and not upkeep?

That's...an odd little effect.
I feel like I've said it before, but Time Spiral was a weird block.

Elvish Ranger. You're welcome.
Oh, also Branchsnap Lorian and, in mono-, Leatherback Baloth.
Also, why "combat damage"? Nafs Asp worked with Viridian Longbow, dammit!

It's not just the ability.
It's also name, flavor text and particularly even the art that screams:
"I don't belong in this timeline! I'm actually a card from the earlier days of Magic!"
