It's a Modern legal zombie, a 3/3 for 2, and run in a proper non-suicide black deck, he's just enough suicide that you should be concerned, but not enough to break the bank. Ran next to other efficient zombies (Geralf's for instance) and he can put lots of pressure on early game, as soon as he's irrelevant just let him be Carrion Feeder food.
There are better 2-drops for sure, but for a budget, pauper, or similar; a 3/3 for 2 with a doable drawback is fine. I think that for putting your opponent on a 6 turn clock that many 3-drops can't win the fight against, is a big deal. There are many many many 2-power creatures out there; but the number of creatures with 3+ power at 1, 2, 3 or even 4 mana are much lower; especially in blue, white, and black. This guy will generate card advantage or deal a few bolts worth of damage.
Carnophage is outdated for the most part now; he already competed with Sarcomancy; but this guy? How m... (see all)

This card uses the kind of artwork that highly intensifies your feelings towards one extreme.
It's some vile and ugly angry monster that you can either take seriously or not, depending on what the card does.
In this case due to its mediocrity, you take a look at it and hate it, thinking "what a stupid Carnophage wannabe."
Now imagine this as a 4/4. You'd be like "Damn, Carophage's big brother is such a badass! Look at that attitude!"
