the elemental blasts were always underrated, if a little narrow. I liked the old core sets ways of making color rivalry's obvious through mirrored cards.

Blue Elemental Blast is a color hoser, so if your opponent isn't playing red, this isn't going to do you much good. If your opponent IS playing red, however, you're not going to be able to find a more efficient spell to thwart his plans. Blue Elemental Blast can combo with Sleight of Mind to wreak havoc on any color, but this sort of 2 for 1 is horrible card disadvantage.
