What's nice about this card? ^_^ There's nothing nice about this card. This card is disgusting, filthy, mean, abusive, and all around a ***. In other words, awesome. :D Currently being used in Modern with Griselbrand and Emrakul, you tend to cast at LEAST two of these when you are attacking with Griselbrand, maybe three, which means you have dealt 28 damage and gained 28 life. You probably also drew the 4th.

Can end games with Manaplasm.
Turn 3: play plasm
turn 4: play any 4CMC spell, then this. Swing twice with a 12/12.

Considering most people play it using it's alternative cost it's very fast. If you ever think you'd play it for the mana cost instead of the discard, you're far better off with Relentless Assault.

This is my favorite of the "combat phase" cards because you can play it in addittion to other cards. You can prolong a Ball Lightning. Or even better, you can use Aggravated Assault to get at least three combat phases in one turn! Throw in a Patron of the Akki for epic damage!

You mean, Akroma, Angel of Fury? Blazing Shoal requires a red card to discard.

mountain-raging goblin-blazing shoal (discarding Akroma Angel of Wrath)-Fury of the Horde discarding two unimportant red cards. My opponent cried a little.

This card hurts since red usually needs those cards and doesn't have good way of drawing. So the only time you would ever use this is when you know you can win in the second step since otherwise, you're down 3 cards, assuming you're using the alt casting cost.
