@Donovan_Fabian: There are still some good snow creatures like Adarkar Valkyrie and Rimescale Dragon. Nonetheless, they're less popular than Elves and Spirits, thus making this card more versatile than Rend Flesh and Eyeblight's Ending and thus necessitating it's higher cost than those two cards (or, alternatively upping it to uncommon). Actually, I'm surprised they didn't up it to uncommon so less would be opened in packs for drafts where many of the creatures wouldn't be targetable by the spell.

After ice age since there really aren't any snow creatures running around.. no one uses them anymore.. it's sort of a 4 mana divine verdict that doesn't require a non black creature like doom blade. Only issue is black has so much cheap removal, really not needed for that.

But I definitely love the flavour of this one, seeing as I'm very clearly an ice person. I just love the thought of turning something or someone into an icy statue! I'd surely join those wacky Rimewind folks if I could!

Very underrated, 4 CMC to kill virtually anything targetable for 4CMC at instant speed is very very nice. Auto include in EDH.

With the printing or Murder, this is officially subpar removal. Artwork is still a killer, though.

Pretty good, and fairly balanced card, actually. I consider many of black's anti-creature spells to be too powerful (Doom Blade, Go for the Throat, Diabolic Edict, The Abyss, Terror, Sorceress Queen anyone?) taking away the fun of potential combat by removing every creature right after it hits the board.

I actually would have preferred this card to be "target non-wall creature is destroyed".
