A bit odd; Gorilla Shaman was a staple in one of the most feared Vintage archtypes of the game's history, and yet this card, modeled after it and Plaguebearer, as Dispenser said, seems rather poor in quality.

I blame the mana cost. Nice try though, Wizards.

Huh, a combination Gorilla Shaman and Plaguebearer.

Gee, this card can't destroy everything possible that my opponent could play, hence it sucks. This card is only very strong if you have "removal" spells in your deck to kill bigger targets, which would mean you'd need black cards or something, or if target creatures exist that had zero cost or something. It's not perfect, but it can annihilate many decks and has some use against others. 4.5/5, since it's situational like most creatures of its cost, which generally lose to stupid things like flying + deathtouch.

This card does not fill the same role as terminate, which is very good one-time creature removal, so comparing them doesn't make sense.

I agree with themicronaut here, it sounds totally awesome.. creature destruction and artifact destruction for a 6 mana creature, cool. Then I look again, and I realize the xx means pay the casting cost twice of whatever your trying to destroy.. ehh.. not so good. If it only costs 3 for my opponent it costs me 7 mana to destroy it.. even a 2 mana artifact now costs 5 to take off the field. It would be awesome if you could use it to take their big creatures off the field.. but you would have to pay its casting cost twice which if its the usual 6 or so.. is 13 with the 1 colorless. You're never going to play 13 mana to remove one creature, instead of just doom blading it, or what have you. A cruel ultimatum only costs 7 by comparison. Also not counting that what if your target creature has regeneration, or they save it at the last minute with a protection card, you spent all your mana to make your opponent use up one spell or a couple mana worth of regeneration, ouch.

In EDH he is the bomb, as he is a reusable way to kill things.

Sure, not great on really expensive creatures, but he can smite token creatures and artifact lands for 1 colorless a pop. Sounds alright to me. 4/5.

Just think of it as {1}: destroy target token creature.

I think Deepfire Elemental is a pretty cool guy. Eh kills artifacts and creatures all day and doesn't afraid of anything.
