Nearly every card in Time Spiral block was a throwback to at least one previously printed card.
This card references Birds of Paradise as well as the cycle of 'lucky charms' such as Wurm's Tooth and Kraken's Eye, which were themselves a throwback to the original charms like Throne of Bone and Crystal Rod.

A neat card, sure 4 mana is a bit much to pay. But if your facing off with a mono color deck its going to make up for its cost very quickly.

I think a drag queen was wearing this out the other night... This will give any deck some pizazz

Hmm... It has all the benefits of like angel feather etc with a mana ability? Good in multi-colour decks.

It costs 4 partly because it can tap for mana the turn it comes in since it's not a creature (so in a way it only costs 3), and partly because of its life-gain effect.
Also, it really, really bothers me that the colors aren't in WUBRG order (not that it's shifted over so that it doesn't start with white, but that it's just plain out of order). Especially since they're so close. Just switch the blue and the black! C'mon!

Anyone else think the flavour text implies they weren't going to reprint Birds of Paradise?
Also - why does it cost 4 for a feather but only 1 for the bird?

i once was in a five way game and everyone except me had planes in there deck. i luckily drew this card at the beginning of the game thus i got life for every white thing on the felled. and i almost won because of it too.

Darksteel Ingot for more, minus indestructible but gains you life, and can only tap for one color. I think I'll stick with the ingot, and get my life gain from something else.

It acts like Wurm's Tooth, Demon's Horn, etc., but it costs 1 more because you get to choose, and one more because it taps for mana.
