This card gets a 5 just because of the looks you see on people's faces.

"...'Rhystic' counters may not be so good in Commander, but in a fast beatdown deck, hey it could work?"

Taxing counters are hilarious in EDH, you don't know how often I've cast this in response to a Genesis Wave for 24. People always tap out in EDH, no one expects taxing counters!

White counterspells, people!! This, Dawn Charm, Orim's Chant, Silence, amazing control for white (comparatively). Try to fit this in almost every white deck I even contemplate. very welcome sight in the first draw. 5 stars!

People usually consider spells more powerful when they're off color, like Brute Force.
Clearly people didn't think so this time.

White's Planeshifted cards give it a huge advantage. (Sunlance, anyone?)

The card may be a planeshifted version of Force Spike, but the art thinks it's supposed to be Balance of Power.
