Ralph was frustrated. He had only stopped by to say hello to the sailors, and they immediately started throwing spears at him. "You guys think just because I'm a sea monster that I'm hear to eat you? That's called prejudice!" Ralph was even more irritated when he noticed that one of the sailors was ironically wearing a "Justice For Trayvon" shirt.

This was a relatively useless fatty and still is, islandhome restricts it usability, and for the same mana you could get a Mahamoti Djinn.

I love sea monsters, one of the reasons why I love MTG as well. But Sea Serpent is one of those creatures that I just wanted to have because it is exactly that. But islandhome really is restricting this card far too much (especially considering the mana costs and P/T). There have been better blue fatties in Alpha Stick to Water Elemental instead: It costs 1 less, has only 1 less thoughness and has no negative drawbacks.

sure, it's not a great card, but the drawbacks aren't even particularly difficult to get around in the right deck.
I personally prefer cards on the weaker end of the spectrum of magic cards, because the REALLY nice cards are just so absurd and defeat the purpose of the vast majority of cards out there.
That being said. this is 2/5 at best
