@MOE: I'm not going to pretend I understood your comment, but Urza block was insane, even though not on creatures (the opposite of today's powercreep). Still, this does compare unfavorably to Elvish Visionary.

Better than Elvish Visionary when combined with Lifeline. Although that is a 7 mana investment for an extra card per turn lol.

I like this card in Karador EDH. He draws you a card, and then he dies, reducing Karador's cost. All the better if you have a Skullclamp or some other way to take advantage of him before he dies.
