It's so sad this card is now pretty much obsolete. Force of Nature is the reason green became my favorite color. This guy was in my first set of three boosters I bought. My friend and I taught ourselves to play back in revised and he was jealous of the Island Fish Jasconius I got in my first starter. A couple of weeks later I pulled this guy and I felt like the luckiest card puller alive. Back then, there was no gatherer or spoiler sheets (at least not for the first two teenagers in town that were playing the game.) So opening packs of Magic really felt like magic. Every card was surprising and pulling this card was, to us, the equivalent of pulling a foil Lotus Cobra today. Happy retirement, Force of Will.

Terra Stomper and Force of Nature both hate blue in their own way. If blue wants to Counterspell, Terra Stomper says no. If blue wants to Control Magic, Force of Nature says "i'mma keep whomping you from over here anyway"

While there are larger threats out there today, an 8/8 Trampler for 6CC is still a very dangerous creature to drop on the table. The upkeep requirement is stiff, but with green's mana acceleration and the elimination of mana burn, this guy is still relevant.

It is also very easy to make a combo that avoids damage from him, since the loss can be redirected and/or cancelled. Circle of Protection: Green is an obvious and easy answer.

3.5/5

I run both FoN and Terra Stomper in the same deck. Can't get enough 6 to cast 8/8s! Still like Force of Nature better.

My little brother was the first to pull one of these back in the days of Revised, and I don't think I've ever been more jealous of a Magic card. Force of Nature was the biggest, baddest creature in the set, and with Wild Growth and Llanowar Elves, it was almost too easy to play. The upkeep was rough, but could be offset with a Spirit Link. The way the rules worked then, stacking lifelink abilities (via two Spirit Links) meant you could actually GAIN life by not paying the upkeep cost. All by itself, however, Force of Nature was still top dog. It was my brother's Force of Nature that made me make my very first Magic card single - a ratty old Antiquities Colossus of Sardia (in horrible condition) for $9 out of the display case at my local comic book store.

He reminds me of Glacius(sp..?) from Killer Instinct :)
I wish I'd been around back in this day.

I think you meant 'Force of NATURE' lol. Yeah, it's sad to see this guy become useless. Every time my friend summoned it, it was pretty much the end of the game unless I topdecked a Terror in time to save my own hide.

@gaussgoat

Terra Stomper

He's not even super expensive. He's under 3 bucks, even.
