One more reason why Mastermind is obnoxious. I do prefer this card over nightmare effects like O-ring (or rather Icy Prison keeping it all in blue) where using the combo often requires an explanation and often yields awkward stares, suspicion, and death threats.

@Atali: Oblivion Ring does in fact combo with Vedalken Mastermind. Here's how:
1) Play Oblivion Ring. When it resolves, its comes-into-play triggered ability goes on the stack.
2) Before O-ring's comes-into-play triggered ability resolves, bounce O-ring with Vedalken Mastermind.
3) O-ring's leaves-play triggered ability goes on the stack on top of its comes-into-play ability. The leaves-play ability resolves, but since nothing has been exiled yet, nothing is returned to play.
4) O-ring's comes-into-play ability resolves, exiling something, permanently.

Potentially interesting synergy with Reality Strobe, so long as you have some way of reliably getting the Strobe ahead of the Acid it turns it into permanent destruction, rather than bouncing.
