I guess it was a little better when you could throw things onto the stack after combat damage? You could do that back in Urza's right?

because back in the day, you could block, then sac for extra damage. this card could take out a */2 on it's own. as it is today, it can take out a */1 flying/unblockable/shadow/anything with evasion and without shroud.

This whole set of "sacrifice. give *-/*- to target creature for a turn" creatures in this set are extremely inefficient. Why don't you just block an attacking creature? it'll give the same effect.
