uhhhh..... even by the time this expansion came out, 3/3 for a vanilla creature was not good costing.
The design team must REALLY hate cyclopses, to make so many of them inordinately suck.

This card is good. He essentially allows you to see the next two cards you are going to draw stapled to an on-curve body. He's not as bad as everyone thinks.

In a Modern zombie deck, wouldn't you want to have Bob and a low curve? This'll let you scry and see the next card to plan for the Confidant upkeep trigger. If you have a Zombie lord on the field and your curve tops out at three, you're guaranteed to never lose the Putrid Cyclops. And it's not like your opponent will be surprised to see your deck has zombies and swamps. (Caveat: I've never actually played with a Dark Confidant, so this is just speculation. I'm starting to play Modern at the FNM level, but I'm not keen on dropping $75 for a single card just yet.)
This seems far more interesting than Warpath Ghoul and superior to it in some decks. It's a fun Johnny card.
