It's discard at instant speed, which makes it interesting. I'm not sure what sort of deck you'd use it in, though. And the mana cost is quite steep to do what Duress or Thoughtseize can do for 1 mana.

Oh nm i forgot the cantrip part.

Pretty amazing against 0-cost cards I guess? I'm talking stuff like moxes and the cycle of no-cmc cards from Time Spiral.

This would be so amazing if it cantripped like Repeal does.

Good Gaea, that flavor text...
I feel tempted to run this card only for that.

How is this not rated at least a 3? It's instant speed discard and an efficient way to dump your mana before your turn begins.

The name references Venarian Gold. I wonder what Venarian means?

Lova the flavor text. Altough the card itself is not so great. Use peek if you want to get a look at opponent's hand, or add black to your deck for a proper discard.

This is instant speed "choice" discard in the color that is designed to draw and hold back mana to play on the opponent's turn. Anyone who think this card isn't good or needs a cantrip has been spoiled by mythics and/or sucks at this game.
Pack this in a deck with other good blue discard like Piracy Charm and Wistful Thinking and watch your opponent cry.
