This card design was just begging for an infinite mana loop.

I'd compare it more to Mana Vault than Sol Ring, stormkeeper. Slightly more costly, but with some of the other drawbacks removed. Or it could be like a Basalt Monolith that's more playable.

Fatestitcher, Aphetto Alchemist, Tezzeret the Seeker. Would work well with it, although they aren't infinite combos.
Voltaic Key + Clock of Omens Could produce some amazing mana, specially since Monolith is going to be legal in legacy again in July...
Power Artifact looks like infinite mana to me though.

You know that the red mana you get from the Mountain is used to cast the Sol Ring right? So there's no way in your hypothetical situation you can Pyretic Ritual and...do all that other stuff.

This card is like a sol ring designed to be "unbanned" but ... this card is too good no surprise it's restricted! any card with casting cost 5 is easy to play on turn 3 ... lets say this " turn 1: land, turn 2, land + this card, turn 3 let's say land + " mirrari's wake" ... GoodGame! ( the same is possible with good old sol ring, of course)

anything to decrees the cost to less than 3 or to increase the mana added to more than 5 and you have a very easy 2-3 card infinint. and nobody likes infinints uther than the caster
