Run with Jhoira of the Ghitu. for 2 mana, you get four of their lands trashed. Its not terribly good, but its not useless either. Much more useful in EDH than anything

A fun card to play, now that there are approximately 2 players in the entire game that use only basicl lands, it can be a very powerful card.

I know what you mean, anon - you really can't confide in that card. I would have prefered him more similar to a red version of Terravore.
Playing cards that rely on your opponent's nonbasics are a bad idea in general. Well, except for Wasteland, of course. But that one, on the other hand, still has viable use in any case.

I just like the fact each color is getting their Lhurgoyf. I remeber loving the green one when it first came out, thinking, hmmmm, one day I'll build a deck around it! Almost as charming as the Atog swarm and the one for each color! Personally I'm thinking of busting out Hivestone and making a Lhurgoyf sliver nation!

This guy is a boss with Jhoira in EDH. Hit 4 nonbasic lands for 2 mana, get at least a 4/4 in 4 turns (or less with the right cards). I ran her as my general for a bit, but she is not a great general because you are a huge target when you suspend Stormtide Leviathan and Gin-Ataxis on your 4th turn. Still though, one on one suspending this guy right off the bat was a guaranteed victory unless my opponent was playing a mono deck.
Not the most amazing card, but fun as hell in EDH.

I could see this card being used in Modern control mirrors, where the victor is often decided by who has more lands in play. This card provides an uncounterable way to destroy a large number of lands.
