I just got my hands on two of these revised. I seriously just love this card for the nostalgia. I've heard that it was printed more than anything else or something like that. But it is awesome!

Look at that grin! Atog was resurrected for a second run during Mirrodin, as an uncommon. Certainly more useful now than it ever was during the days of Revised, Atog provides you with a nice sac engine for artifacts.

notice how his ability no longer says "until end of turn", as opposed to the original antiquities version and the later mirrodin and 5th edition versions which DO say until end of turn.
i've always wondered if that was a mistake, a purposeful change, or some sort of templating issue.
i guess what i'm saying is put the revised version in your r&d's secret lair deck

A rare common creature that got even better over time instead of worse. the idea was sound, he was just waiting for the proper envioronment.

Great artwork. Never ran with this much back in the day, but seeing his +2/+2 that can be used continuosuly, I'm starting to wonder.

Card of the Day - Monday, February 11, 2002
For a period of time following the release of the Revised set in 1994, more copies of Atog existed than any other card beside basic lands.

I was disappointed to find that the text of this card had been amended to modify what the cost of the ability actually was.
Before checking here, I thought that this ability could simply be played as many times as you were willing to activate it. The adjustment is necessary, but very disappointing.
