The card itself is very narrow in it's uses, but still this card seems notorious for it's image. Which is both cool and mildly depressing for certain reasons. Can't complain though, I like the art and flavor of this card a lot.

Would be a fun addition to my magemark deck... anti flying when i need it, a cheap enchantment to activate the magemarks on one of my (non-flying) creatures when i don't.

I would rather use shock...

This would definitely have been green if it were printed today. Flying hate and a name like Earthbind definitely scream green to me. Color pie was pretty undeveloped back then.

A bit narrow in scope (it only affects flying creatures), but very good for the casting cost. If your opponent's Serra Angel is giving you problems and your Shivan Dragon is nowhere to be found, hit the Angel with this aura and your Earth Elemental will make your opponent think twice about sending the Serra over again. Smaller flyers like Scryb Sprites are killed outright by this spell.

The art has some appeal, strangely...

Yup! There's that bondage-themed card!

This card is actually pretty effective. Back when color hatred was still super powerful, this was a nice counter to blue and/or white's flying brigades. When you look at it along with Lightning Bolt, you can basically take out any flyer for just RR.

Someone needs to stick this in an anti-farie deck just as an insult.

Alongside this and Handcuffs (and arguably Grasp of Darkness), we need more bondage-themed cards.

For the lulz.
