Art of this card shows that the spell was used on a Torchling.

You wanna ape party? Screw Djinn Illuminatus.
Try Ink-Treader Nephilim

U: "Destroy target creature. It can't be regenerated. Your opponent and any bystanders go into shock. You should take them to the hospital."

Great card, although the art would look better with a Statue of Liberty in the background.

It turns things into monkeys at instant speed for one mana! What more do you want?

I actually use this in my mono-blue return deck. Apparently a token creature is much easier to bounce than the other fellow. The idea of the card and the effect is just crazy.
5/5!

Now has a functional reprint in Gatecrash, in the form of Rapid Hybridization (or whatever the English name will be; we only have the French print as I type this). You just get a Frog Lizard rather than an Ape.

Whenever I play this spell, I always say "Looks like I made a monkey out of you!". Very effective spell, but those ape tokens can be pretty dangerous.

It's like a blue Terminate. It would be cuter if the chimp was in a diaper, though.
Try this on a Precursor Golem. . .
