I like using this in multiplayer - if I don't take any damage during another turn, I use it to make friends on the battlefield. It's good for that at least.

Man, this card's uselessness isn't because of powercreep. It was bad even in Revised -- yes, it can sometimes spare you damage or save things, but you'd almost always be better off just using another beatstick or piece of removal instead.
