Urrrrrghh. So much reminder text. I'd think that by 10th Edition, most players would know how flying and trample work.

It's funny and sad that the Pit Lord is still technically properly costed, but there have just been so many other cards that play out better (even if they are a bit smaller) that he'll never see play these days. I *want* to use this guy and kick some tail with him, but it is often not worth it.

Doomgape also sort of flat-out clobbered the Pit Lord in any deck that can use Black or Green. Though, if you have no creatures left and need to attack at any cost, the Pit Lord still wins vs. eating itself.

There's nothing wrong with Lord of the Pit really. Frample is good, he hits hard each turn he's out, and the most he's out is 2 turns. I routinely win off of turn 2ish Lord/Leige of the pits in black ramping demon decks. In reanimation he's another demon with trample, of which there aren't a lot of.

They brought back Lord of the Pit. Wow. He's not quite the fearsome beast he was back in the day, and he's still a very dangerous card to use, but he's still a terror to behold, and just seeing him come back with badass new art is very satisfying.
