Cost aside, this card is pretty amazing. I don't think most people realize that you can use it's abilities when you attack with it, as the vigilance allows you to use the tap abilities when you declare attackers, meaning that you can attack with these kitties and force an opponent to send a creature to the frontline. Unless your opponent is packing some major heat or tricky stat alterations, these cats can clear through most anything that stands in their way.

Seems like a fun card! Solid body, vigilance plus tap abilities... wasn't until I read Oleander's explanation that I learnt they can attack and use their ability as they are attacking. I wonder if that misunderstanding has contributed to this card's poor rating?

This card has slid beautifully into my Nayan beastie deck. Yeah, it's a little expensive, but it really helps work around that one creature my opponent is able to ramp to the level of my Nayan beasts...or go after that one little tapping creature that I can't otherwise touch. Wish it cost less, but even without its abilities, a 5/4 with vigilance for is more than playable in the right deck.

Intersting abilities. Reminds me of Burning-Tree Bloodscale from the Ravnica block. Can't say that the card is all that great since there are usually better creatures for six mana, but it definitely has combo potential. The flavor: awesome.

Seems like a fun card for nature's will, not exactly game ending for 6 mana though. Flameblast dragon can simply kill something when it attacks vs. tapping it so a creature can't block or has to block.

When you release cards like Baneslayer Angel at a converted mana cost of five, punks like this really drop off in viability.....

Small tap effects shouldn't usually be on big creatures, or if they are they shouldn't raise the cost too much. This is Alara. He'd be balanced at and would basically just be a colossal battlemage.
