This card would still be very much playable without the flying hosing.
As is, insane.

I think this is one of the best, if not the best tribe supporting creature ever printed. Cards like this, Knight exemplar, and death baron are all game closers for three mana, so long as they stay on the field. It takes all the power of Heedless One, lowers the cost, and gives it an insanely helpful ability to boot. The first ability alone makes this card a powerhouse in any elf deck, the ability to damage flying without basically any drawback seems to me to be a bit overkill. Wizards compensated for elves inability to properly deal with flying, by allowing them to handle any flying threat with ease. Originally, it seemed that elves had their weakness against flying as a way of counter-balancing their insane numbers and mana-ramping ability. I know flying-hate is the green thing to do, but decisively eliminating that characteristic (and imo necessary) weakness sort of messes with the subtle intricacies that m... (see all)

Yes you can buff it. when a creature is x/x, it means that its origional power and toughness are x/x. for instance, if you had 2 elves, it would be 2/2. you could then buff it from there on.

Attacking and tapping to use an activated ability are two separate things. You can attack an opposing player with a creature, in order to do that you must declare you're attacking with the creature. If it does not have vigilance you tap it while declaring the attack.
The ability is used to deal damage equal to it's power to target creature with flying.

this card is just awesome with Greatbow Doyen on the field... throw some token making spells, and preferably Quest for Renewal and you're just too fine.

I actually like the way the artwork for this was done. These ladies may only be dressed in leaves, but the artist didn't make a big deal out of it (compare to other artworks of lightly-dressed women where their curves and shapes have been emphasized). Instead, they look fierce and determined, mirroring the power of this card quite nicely.

Four of this card, and four heedless ones should go in just about any elf deck

Besides being a great card, like that of Drove Elves, My friends and I are having a debate on whether or not this card tapped means attack against flying or attack against other creatues/player. Or is it ONLY against flying creatures?
