Cyclonic Rift
-Early game bounce spell.
-Hits opponent even if they're blue/multicolor
-Hits *every* non-land, rather than just creatures
-Costs only 1 more to overload. Less color heavy. (Almost) never a dead card.

Powerful effect but too costy. I'd prefer Wash Out over this, always. Costs less, easier to splash, hit's all permanents and not just creatures.

This card versus Wash Out is a pretty subjective thing, as far as I can see. This is more expensive, but will probably hit a lot more creatures, especially in multiplayer. Wash Out is narrower, but more useful in a duel, cheaper, and hits all permanents instead of just creatures. I think Inundate has better flavor. In addition, I don't know how much the "all permanents" clause really makes a difference in Wash Out's case. It cares about color, which mean it's most likely not going to get rid of a problem artifact or land, and when you return that pesky enchantment to its owner's hand, it's just going to come back. I'd say they're about even.

Really awesome flavor and art... and quite usefull effect, though you can find better cards, it's still quite playable, especially while playing mono-blue. It could be really awesome with Leyline of Anticipation...

YAY! first post! this is a great card! ok ... playing monoblue help you a lot, but not really usable in a lot of multicolordeck.
