If I lived in a world where evil necromancers raised armies of animated skeletons, the mechanics of their movement would be the least of my worries.

Abacus, there's this little thing, important to any fantasy or sci-fi game, book or movie - it's called suspension of disbelief....

Lol if you lived in a world where Necromancer's can raise skeletons to fight for them, then I suppose things like ligaments holding bones together might be out the window too.

You know, the funny thing about the human skeleton is that many of the smaller bones are attached to each other only by ligaments and muscle. In other words, once those things rot there is nothing holding your kneecaps to your legs. In fact, without all the ligaments in your spinal column, the vertebrae are just kind of stacked on top of each other.
So, long story short, if ever a necromancer were to start raising skeletons we'd have nothing to worry about as they would not be able to get up and start walking.
