Well, with Sapling of colfenor, she can get you new cards in hand. You shouldn't be worried about the skipping a draw, the killer is "one spell a turn". You could balance out the field by playing cards like Rule of Law so it's even at least.

This card is so cool to me, but disappointing too. It sucks that Colfenor's Plans counts as the first spell of the turn, and it really hurts to lose all your cards if it gets removed.
The upside is that it can be some fun in casual against slower decks. I played this in a U/B deck with some counterspells for their turn, Jester's Scepter, Muse Vessel, and some weird possession spells. Recoil and other blue control spells kept me in the game for quite a few turns. Bloodletter Quill drew me some extra cards.
It can be helpful to dig for that Damnation or Evacuation you need to stay alive.
And, you can always run Perilous Research to get rid of your Colfenor's Plans and draw some cards. How about Dream Stalker to refresh the Plans?
It didn't last long, but oh well - why miss out on trying a quirky mechanic here an... (see all)

If you need one spell to win it late in a game, not a horrible play. Limited usefulness otherwise. Donate's an interesting idea, especially if you know they don't have a way to get rid of it.

I seriously don't see how this is only a 1.5. Yes, it's probably not worth a 4.5, but com'on, you get access to 7 more cards for only 4 mana. Use those cards up, then get rid of the Plans. It's easy to build around and offers some serious card advantage, making it at least a 3 to 4.

You could look at this card as gaining a huge card advantage (by black standards), and then suffering for that advantage. The price to pay is great, but seven extra cards is pretty awesome. Plus, as said by Tommy9898, sapling of colfenor can help in its ability to allow you to continue to draw cards. Mid-game, the card advantage granted by this card could be pretty influential. Imagine having two of these out! So many options! Just saying, it deserves more than 2 stars in my opinion for the card advantage it grants...

Another reason to wish Zedruu was black.

Play with Dark Confidant, and Arcane Laboratory or Rule of Law, for maximum awesomeness.

@Guest513736147, look again; Bazaar Trader doesn't do enchantments, specifically because of things like this and Illusions of Grandeur.

It's cool if you have something to destroy enchantments and with treefolk thats bound to happen. However the fact that this is not a treefolk card and that it limits your spells does bite. Maybe if you play this with the saproling to have it help you draw, but even then this was not one of Colfenors better plans.

So, if you combine this with Bazaar Trader and give the Plans to your opponent, will he be able to play the cards that you removed from your deck when it came into play? If so, that's kinda neat, but also kinda lame.
