Love the mana-fixing.

@Ritius
"These are not very good in WUBRG decks, and have limited use in tricolor decks." This is only slightly less true of dual lands, though.

Very arguably the third best land cycle in the game behind true duals and Ravnica painlands.

I loved this cycle. Wizards finally realized that they can give us color-fixers in a deck without being overpowered, and we got this beautiful set of lands.

I love this cycle. It offers very powerful mana fixing that is more affordable than Shocklands, Fetchlands, or original duals, but it does so in a very fair way. I like how it cannot produce colored mana the first turn or two, as it encourages deckbuilding to use lots of basics, making this all the more budget friendly. Overall, though, a good cycle, and the art is great to boot!

Aside perhaps from Onslaught's Polluted Delta cycle (and that didn't include the opposed-color pairs), I'm wondering if this is the first set of lands we've seen that can be argued to not be strictly inferior to the original Tundra style, putting aside the whole situation of carrying basic land types. I say this on account of the kind of turn two situations we see...

Plains + Tundra: can use WW or WU
Plains + Mystic Gate: can use WW, WU, *or* UU

Tundra's advantage is that it can produce colored mana right away, valuable for the very beginning of the game. Mystic Gate adds more color flex, valuable for the mid-game.

But it's value as compared to the old split lands diminishes significantly for each color after two that you add to your deck. These are not very good in WUBRG decks, and have limited use in tricolor decks. Absolutely amazing in two colors, though.

The ability to turn your first turn Island --> Ponder into a second turn {W}{W} is not to be underestimated. Not only is this a high quality dual land, it can also transform some of your existing lands to help pay colour-heavy costs!
