Only noobs find this card awesome. Don't believe me? Read Mark Rosewater's articles in the Making Magic column. This card is only to get noob players to be impressed because they over value life gain. My words, not his. But he basically said the same thing.

@4wallz: Doesn't matter. These cards are good for new players to cut their baby teeth on when starting out. My first deck had this and Iron Star for my red/green deck. I didn't any other lifegain cards when I started out playing, so these were a bit of a lifesaver, if you'll pardon the pun.
