But it's made out of very durable metal... and check out the flavor text, it's a merry and playful sword, not a fighter.

It's one lone scimitar. Let's take any soldier type creature with a sword and they are typically 1/1. So lone sword is only power of 1. But this by being nimble and mobile is so evasive that it toughness equals to mighties dragons. Hence 1/5 flier.
