So it's a merrow that eats marrow? *rimshot*
Buuut yeah. Not so great except for the novelty of literally feeding your opponents dead minions to the fishes.

I hate it when great art gets wasted on a meh card. And when a great card is graced with meh art. In this case, it's the former.

Is the art a throwback to Dread Specter? Probably not, but the similarity is weird.

He's not great, but I like using him when I know my friends have Elixir of Immortality in their decks.

My two favorite things: Merfolk and Black creatures. If only it's effect didn't suck.

Played on turn one he can easily keep the opponent"s graveyard clean all the game so i don't think he sucks at all !

I think something is being missed in the discussion so far. Because the first ability is so mediocre, the second ability is being glossed over. This is a 1 mana 1/1, that is available to block the turn after it attacks as long as you cast a black spell that turn. It's not vigilance ... but it's probably as close as mono-black will ever get to it apart from Ghost Hounds. That puts it at a solid 3/5 for me.

Remember, this is a 1/1 for that untaps every time you cast a Black spell. There are more tap effects you could give him that might be more relevant, especially in block.
