Bitterblossom makes this thing nuts in EDH, or just about any kitchen table magic game.

Kresh EDH Like.
Now only if there was a card that said whenever a creature you control hits grave, add B to your mana pool...

If you can't beat them, destroy them.

With a reassembling skeleton, it becomes "1BB: destroy nonblack creature." pretty good and resilient actually. It survives Wrath of God effects and doesn't require another color, and both are good cards on their own so getting just one won't be a blank.

I like how a pair of Nether Traitors can wipe the board clean using this card given sufficient mana. With it costing Black to kill and Black to bring back the other traitor, you essentially have repeatable doomblades. Not bad. - Jsttu
How about 2 x Carnival of Souls + 2 x Deathgreeter?

Really liking it in casual with Reassembling Skeleton. Or anything that has a way of coming back, basically.

This and Mind Slash equals lock. Used to run them both in an Enduring Renewal/thopter deck, but they're just so much more efficient in monoblack sac.

This, Tortured Existence, and a couple Basking Rootwallas.
Pretty good board lock, as long as you have the BB to keep running it.

I don't get why this is rated so low. In a black deck built around spawning worthless tokens to be sacrificed this is an absolute beast.
