The original Pernicious Deed, less powerful but but with a lot more subtle applications, and not just for The Rock to boot..

Scars of Mirrodin reprint Ratchet Bomb is very similar to this, with some interaction with untap artifacts and things that make charge counters.

What like in this card is the distinct way to deal with some cards and keep others; during a match It's what make you feel that this is a good game. It still has a cool artwork at all.

I always seem to use this to sack on turn 1, killing off all tokens. But awsome artifact, and mas kill in any deck for 2 mana. Heck yes it is.

Necroplasm if you just want to kill creatures. Plague Boiler is better than Powder Keg if you're trying to kill everything, plus you can manipulate the counters on it.

Ratchet Bomb kind of makes this a little redundant....

Legacy Staple for a reason:
-Destroys affinity
-Empty the Warrens
-Is tutorable in black or white; is also colorless
-Can shut down Ichorid's primary win-con
And against fair decks
-Can hit any 1 or 2 drop by turn 2-3, making it spot removal at worst
-nails tokens/swarms
easy 5/5 for eating entire deck archtypes for a 1-of in the sideboard or main
