If you're making a Shaman tribal deck, combine this one with Oracle of Mul Daya.
(In block-constructed or for budget reasons, you can use Gilt-Leaf Seer)

In general i'd advise using Sensei's Divining Top or Mirri's Guile in a Shaman deck since most of them have effects that are dependant on your top card.

@made4ipod: You can't quite compare these, Garruk's companion has a cost of GreenGreen, which makes a huge difference if you run more than one color.
However, you can compare Wolf-Skull Shaman to the classic (which, by the way, coined the term "bear" for a 2/2 body).
Not that there were a ton of 1Green drops before that were strictly better than the bears (ignoring creature types), like Wild Mongrel for instance.
But this one is a pretty tough comparison to the bears nonetheless since (again, ignoring creature types) it can create further bears visually for free.

@OutlawD1: It's hard for a 2 drop green creature not to be better than Grizzly Bears.

Awesome card. Not as broken as others would have you believe in that it has to go in an Elf or Shaman tribal deck, and there's lots of competition when it comes to two drops (like Vanquisher). Still, a very good card.
