The 4 toughness is nice, but the mana cost and {Q} ability seem much too expensive to play.

I might be missing something given that I primarily play standard and got into the game after Mirrodin block cycled out, but this card seems like it'd be insanely powerful when combined with another card that causes it to tap. For example, a card like Hankyu - tap Pale Wayfarer using either of Hankyu's abilities, and effectively give all your creatures protection from everything and destroy every creature of the opponent's (besides those with shroud or prot white). Of course, you're probably not going to be able to set up this combo until the turn after Wayfarer comes out (even if you use something cheaper like Paradise Mantle the lack of haste is going to prevent the tap on the first turn) but if you can set it off it seems pretty game winning.
7 mana cards will always be tricky, especially if they're conditional like this, but it certainly seems like it can combo very nicely.

Agreed, the only problem with this card is that it's too darn expensive! If it had cost less to cast and activate it would have been juuuuust right.

Horrible card. At least Moonlace has the virtue of simplicity.

Not a fan of the design here - nothing about it really makes any sense to me.
But the card isn't as bad as people are making out. It's a reasonable finisher in limited and it's a spirit/giant for the casual crowd.

Check out those double-forearms! Obviously his crime was being related to Dumbrakul.
