Somewhat narrow since Elf decks tend not to sit around worrying about life-gain. But hey - it's a 1/1 for 1 in a supported tribe with an ability.

I think the intended purpose of this card is that you're supposed to sac it when it would die anyway, turning an otherwise dead creature into some life.
